Qno. 2. Is Having sex with wife wearing a condom is halaal or haraam?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Condom business and sex legal or not
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: Is Having sex with wife wearing a condom is halaal or haraam?
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.136 Narrated byJ abir
We used to practice coitus interruptus during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (saws), while the Qur'an was being Revealed.
When some of the companions of the Prophet (saws) wished to space their children, they would practice the concept called ‘coitus interruptus’ meaning at the exact time of ejaculation, they would remove their private organs from their wives. Although when asked, the Messenger of Allah (saws) did not encourage it, he did not declare it forbidden.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 5.459 Narrated by Ibn Muhairiz
So when we intended to do coitus interruptus, we said, 'How can we do coitus interruptus before asking Allah's Messenger (saws) who is present among us?' We asked (him) about it and he (saws) said, 'It is better for you not to do so, for if any soul is predestined to exist, it will exist.' "
The using of condoms serves the same purpose as the process of ‘coitus interruptus’; and if one’s intention in using it is to space one’s children, there is no sin. But if one uses it to prevent having children permanently, then it would indeed be against the principles of Islam and a grave sin in the sight of Allah Subhanah.
Your Question: Is doing a business of condoms halaal or haram?
The usage of condoms in the open markets is generally used to practice promiscuity, and/or save oneself from contagious sexual diseases, and/or stop having illegal children, etc. Although one cannot say that the one who sells it is responsible for the actions of the one who buys it, it is obvious the evil of it’s usage is more than the benefit of it. Although the scholars in Islam do not specifically declare that dealing in condoms is a haraam source of income, they do advise the believers to use their best judgment and abstain from doing a business whose evil is more than its good.
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.49 Narrated by An Numan bin Bashir
I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, 'Both halaal and haraam things are evident, but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor.’
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
