Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
1) How many prophets names are there in Quraan and in which suraah and every prophets name came how many times? 2)in which language are the 4 books send by ALLAH on Prophets? 3)from which occupation did the prophets belongs to? 4)name of Azwajhe mutahirat? 5)names of Ashrah-e-mubashira?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Prophets mentioned by name in Quran
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: …..how many prophets names are there in Quraan and in which suraah and every prophets name came how many times?
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 40 Surah Gafir verse 78:
O Prophet, We have sent many a Messenger before you. Of them there are some whose stories We have related to you, and of others We have not related.
The truth is that Allah Subhanah Alone knows exactly where and how many Prophets He has sent on the earth for the guidance of mankind (one hadith states the number in excess of 124,000) before He sent His Last and Final Messenger, Mohamed ar-Rasool Allah (saws), with the One Universal Message for all of mankind. The Prophets whose name finds mention in the Glorious Quran are twenty-six:
Some incidents of Hadrat Dhul-Qarnain, Hadrat Khidr (not by name), and Hadrat Luqman are also mentioned in the Quran, but in the opinion of most scholars they were not amongst the Prophets sent by Allah Subhanah. Allah Alone Knows Best.
To determine how many times each Prophet’s name is mentioned in the Glorious Quran and in which Surahs their name is mentioned would indeed be a lengthy exercise…for Prophets like Hadrat Moosa (a.s.) alone is mentioned in excess of 70 times in the Quran, whereas Prophets like Prophet Khul-Kifl (a.s.) or Prophet Yasa’a (a.s.) are mentioned by name only once. If there are any particular specific Prophets whose presence of names you wish to enquire, it would be more feasibly if you posed a specific question to that effect, and if Allah Subhanah Wills and Helps us, we will strive to respond to your question, Insha Allah.
Your Question: ….in which language are the 4 books send by ALLAH on Prophets?
We assume that by the ‘4-Books’ you mean to enquire about the:
Your Question: …..from which occupation did the prophets belongs to?
The known occupations of the various Prophets of Allah are as varied as being shepherds, to being a craftsman (Prophet Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.) was recorded as being a carpenter), to be a businessman (Prophet Mohamed (saws))….but the one occupation which was absolutely common to all the Prophets of Allah is that of being a shepherd at some time of their lives.
